With the inauguration of Mad Mahmoud Ahmadinejad nearly upon us, note the difference in how Barack Obama and Germany’s Angela Merkel are responding.
Chancellor Merkel will apparently not be sending the usual congratulatory letter to Mahmoud. At a Berlin press conference on Monday, Merkel’s spokesperson Klaus Vater said:
”In view of his controversial re-election, the chancellor won’t be congratulating the Iranian president.”
”In view of his controversial re-election, the chancellor won’t be congratulating the Iranian president.”
Some thirty people have died, and numerous others injured, in the mass protests that have rocked Iran following the ‘victory’ of Mahmoud in the recent elections. Around 3,000 Iranians were arrested after voicing their anger at the results.
Merkel’s spokesperson has also stated that the Iranian government must release all the prisoners being held.
Now compare this forthright and principled stand with that of the Obama administration. When asked if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the ‘elected leader’ of Iran, White House spokersperson Robert Gibbs answered:
“He’s the elected leader.”
“He’s the elected leader.”
Er, I think Iranians would beg to differ with you there, Rob.
Will Obama be sending Mahmoud a congratulatory letter…?

The remarks you made in the original debate, that I objected to, included: 'jews take it bending over'.
You also trotted out various other silly stereotypes that I objected to – as was my right. If you didn't WANT people to comment on your blog, then don't let us. What you seem to be demanding is that everyone – in this specific case, me – A GREES with you all of the time, all of the way!
I've ALREADY AGREED with what is surely your MAIN POINT. Namely, that no American Jews should even consider supporting Obama. They would be mad to do so – and yes, I agree with you, it means they either don't understand or don't care the damage Obama is doing to the safety and security OF Israel.

I have never, ever, had nor expressed the attitude that 'jews can do no wrong' – for crying out loud, the LONGEST POST on this blog is CRITICISM OF ISRAEL.

I never shared the " Obama mania, as far as I was concerned he was "just at the best an other Bill Clinton. While not knowing about his social and economic policy , as I am not an American, I had been inclined to give him a far chance as far as his international policy is concerned.
Now sadly I do not think he has a clue, and maybe on the road to being " another "Jimmy Carter.
