As I mentioned here, the Swedish government has cheerfully refused to condemn the false accusations against Israel that have appeared in mainstream paper Aftonbladet. Apparently it’s fine to accuse Jews of the most obscene crimes – even if you don’t have a single bit of proof.
Specifically, let’s just examine the rank hypocrisy of Swedish Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt. This is the man who has now insisted that being free to slander Israel with this new reworking of the Blood Libel, is a matter of ‘free speech’. He won’t condemn the story because that would be ‘interfering’ with the press.
Yet this is the same man who shut down the Internet servers and tried to block anyone in Sweden from publishing Danish cartoons about Mohammed, lest it offend Muslims.
This man wouldn’t recognise integrity if it walked up and slapped him round the face.

Carl Bildt doesn’t want to offend Sweden’s large and growing Muslim community. But insulting Israel, he calculates his country will pay no price for it. When Israelis still shop Ikea, the message they’re sending is we don’t care you hate Jews; in fact we’ll pay for more of that stuff. Where does it all end?

Well said – though I did read that Israelis are planning a huge boycott of Ikea. I hope they go through with it.
I’ll certainly not be buying anything there!
The double standard is as usual a cover for bias. And this is a particularly pathetic showing for a completely baseless story with no actual sources or proof.
